RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. S# 281100. Bbl. 24" oct. to rnd. Muzzle has single gold band. Receiver is engraved w/ gold inlays. Left side has open scroll w/ gold wire circle w/ 3 gold sheep. Right side has matching scroll w/ gold wire circle having buck & doe deer. Marbles Sheard dovetail mounted bead front sight, rear dovetail has fitted blank. Rear tang has flip up peep. Forearm & pistol grip stock w/ Winchester black hard rubber grip cap have style H checkering. Nickel finished brass Schuetzen buttplate & sling eyes. CONDITION: good. Bbl. & receiver retain 90% lightly faded reblued finish. Hammer & lever have strong re-case colored finish. Stock & forearm have freshened checkering showing scattered scratches & marks. Buttplate retains 90% nickel showing scratches & wear spots. Bore is bright w/ sound rifling. (20-538/DS). CURIO. $8,000-12,000.
