Cal. 44-40. S# 272372. Bbl. 20" rnd. Square base w/ blade front sight. Dovetail ladder adj. rear sight. Button mag. Left side of receiver has staple w/ ring. Uncheckered forend w/ single bbl. band. Uncheckered straight grip stock w/ steel carbine buttplate w/ trapdoor. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 3 piece cleaning rod in butt. CONDITION: bbl. retains a smooth brown patina finish w/ areas of sm. dents. Fine surface oxidation at muzzle. Forend retains worn, original finish w/ numerous handling marks & some chips backside of bbl. ring. Receiver is a smooth, dark gray brown patina w/ minor wear on sharp edges. Buttstock has dark oil finish w/ numerous nicks & dings. Repaired crack left side center. Crack on right side between tangs. Bore is dark w/ moderate pitting. (01-17879/BT). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
