WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

Cal. 38-56 WCF. S# 30981. Bbl. 26" oct. Full length mag. Combination front sight, elevator adj. sporting rear sight. Tang has extra hole drilled through Model marking to accommodate mounting of incorrect tang sight. Standard forend w/ nose cap. Straight grip stock w/ steel crescent buttplate. CONDITION: fair. Bbl. has original blue w/ wear on sharp edges & thinning in & around rear sight area plus some spots of fine surface oxidation. Mag. tube is worn to silver patina in front of nose cap. Nose cap has flaked to a silver color. Receiver has fading original case colors w/ some fine surface oxidation on top & along left side. Lever & hammer have fading original case colors. Forearm has full length break at bottom of right side. There is a sm. notch just behind nose cap on left side & right side has dents. Original finish blended w/ hand worn patina. Stock has handling marks, original finish w/ hand worn patina through grip. Buttplate is mostly a silver patina. Bore is good w/ some minor scattered pitting. (01-17072/BT/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
