WINCHESTER MODEL 1906 EXPERT SLIDE ACTION RIFLE

[ translate ]

SERIAL NUMBER: 541763. BARREL: 20". CALIBER: .22 S-L-LR. MANUFACTURED: 1919. This scarce and highly collectible Winchester Model 1906 Expert deluxe pump-action rifle was manufactured in 1919. Featuring the highly desirable, factory-authentic "Half-Nickel" finish configuration, this elite piece showcases a factory nickel-plated receiver elegantly offset by a blued barrel and magazine tube. Historians estimate that only about 2,600 of these dual-tone Expert models were ever produced during their brief 1918-1924 production run. It features a 20-inch round barrel with standard factory markings reading "-MOD. 06- .22 SHORT-LONG OR LONG RIFLE", verifying it was built to cycle all three standard rimfire cartridges interchangeably. The main receiver and the lower tang display 100% matching serial numbers (541763), proving the frame assembly has remained entirely intact since leaving the Winchester factory 107 years ago. Further validating its elite pedigree, the frame is stamped with the correct factory designator code "B" directly underneath the receiver serial number. This historic stamp serves as definitive proof of frame origin, confirming it was designated from inception as a dedicated Model 1906 frame rather than a shared Model 1890 platform. The rifle retains its distinctive, deluxe Expert-tier wood furniture, consisting of a smooth, fluted slide handle and a plain gumwood buttstock with factory butt plate, styled with a graceful factory pistol grip. Architecturally sound and free from modern modifications. The factory markings on the steel, including the traditional two-line Winchester barrel address and patent dates, remain crisp, clean, and entirely legible. CONDITION: Very Good. There is an area of freckling and very small area of flaking on right side of the receiver. The bore is shiny, light frost with sharp rifling. The blueing is starting a deep plumb patina. The wood maintains its original factory profile with only honest, age-appropriate handling marks. Operates normally. C&R 26-430
