WMF - An impressive Jugendstil jardiniere

An impressive and large Jugendstil jardiniere by WMF. The silver plated stand raised on six feet and decorated in an organic, linier whiplash design with stylized flowers and reticulated handles. The cut glass insert with matching dots and lines compliments the jardiniere well. Measuring an impressive 47 cm in length, 19 cm In width and 16 cm tall Fully marked with wmf and ostrich in lozenge, B for Britannia metal, I/O for the thickness of the plating and XO for oxidized, as well as number 354 Reference : Featured on page 365 in the 1906 WMF catalogue (See the last two images) A subtle engraving dates the piece to the same year. Condition - In excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. A small fleabite to the interior rim of the glass insert.
