WMF - Pair of bottle holders (2)

A work in bas-relief of great finesse for this pair of jars/bottle holders, both rigorously similar. A lake landscape, carefully chiselled, featuring naiads, naked young women with long hair mingling with plants (water lilies, rushes. . .) and with the waves of water. Each foot (one of which bears the mark of an old but not visible restoration) is decorated with beautifully blossomed roses and the top of the vases is embellished with a vine arbour offering generous bunches of grapes. . . The set contains extremely refined details and each piece is signed with the various hallmarks of the famous WMF house. Excellent condition.
