A collection of commemorative stamps signed by General Douglas Macarthur. [The stamps issued February 1948.] 12 Philippine stamps of MacArthur, a 3rd Anniversary printing to celebrate the retaking of Manila, comprising 3 sets of 4 stamp blocks for the 4,6,and 18 centavos, mounted on paper, and signed above by MacArthur. The stamps set in a mounted with a photograph of the General. Framed and Glazed; together a framed photograph of the Crew of the submarine USS Barb, annotated by Gene Fluckey the photographed dated at 2nd August 1945. Framed; and 5 other framed WW2 items, including a panoramic photograph of a medal of Honor ceremony, and 2 framed named medal groupings.

A fine MacArthur signed stamp group, likely signed when he came back to Philippines for these anniversary festivities. MacArthur was in charge of Japan from 1945 to 1948, and successfully instituted political, social, and business reforms. In 1948 he made a bid to be the Republican candidate for President.
