WORLD WAR II PROPAGANDA LEAFLETS (6)
WORLD WAR II PROPAGANDA LEAFLETS (6)
An interesting group of six leaflets dropped on occupied Europe, varying sizes. Includes: a 'Passierschein' or 'Safe Conduct' pass printed in German and English; a message to the citizens of Aachen, asking for total surrender; an image of a large skeleton hovering over dead bodies, captioned ‘Eastward bound'; a 4pp. leaflet in Italian setting forth points from the Tehran Conference, with images of Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin on the cover; a German leaflet printed in English ‘welcoming' the 35th Division. The Germans warn the Americans in the politest way possible, though the conclusion really drives their point home, reading: ‘Better across than a cross'; and a leaflet titled ‘We say, come and see for yourselves!', demanding that Dwight D. Eisenhower ‘appoint a delegation composed of six to ten officers...and speak in absolute freedom with the civilian victims of the Bolsheviks...'. Conditions vary, overall very good.
