A polished brass souvenir cigar box, cedar lined, the lid engraved with a map depicting the Battlefields of Europe and North Africa so titled, the 4 sides listing the principal battles by year from 1939 to 1945. The base stamped "Granger made in Egypt", and "brass used in the manufacture of this box was salvaged from the battlefields of World War II". Some light rubbing and staining, traces of a copper coating on the lid. 160 x 160 x 55m.
Granger was a British Military supply company in Egypt, and likely made commemorative boxes from metal salvaged from the deserts of the North African Campaigns.
