WW1, Great War, British Brodie Steel Combat Helmet, Rimless. A good example of an early produced steel brodie helmet as used by British and commonwealth forces in the Great War. This example is likely to be an early pattern, refurbished helmet. The rimless steel helmet is constructed in a magnetic steel unlike its later counterparts. Some of these helmets left over from production were fitted with the later wider type chin strap bales and the later pattern liner as does this example. The helmet retains a course textured finish in a dark brown paint. The liner is in fair condition but the chin strap is missing. Good condition overall. Age related wear and surface rusting present.
