WW1 Great War Royal Navy Air Service (RNAS) Log Book. A good example of a Royal Naval Air Service / Royal Air Force log book to 'Flight Sub Lieutenant J M Faulks'. The log book is full watch a vast amount of entries including his time n the UK training, mainly from RNAS stations, Redcar and Cranwell, in 1917. In May of 1918, as stated in the log book, Faulks went overseas and stationed at 'Toronto, Italy', operation DH9's with 226th Squadron RAF. On July 1st 1918, one operational sortie is descried in the 'remarks' section. It reads 'Raided Cattaro, dropping four 112lbs bombs, two were observed to burst on submarine crews quarters, landed at Salatina to correct course and check petrol'. The 17th July saw a similar attack on the same target, '4 direct hits on the sub quarters with photos of some. Wrecked machine of landing at Brindisi'. Age related wear and soiling to the cover, but generally good readable condition. The Late Richard Archer Collection.
