WW1 IMPERIAL GERMAN PANTHER HEAD CAVALRY SWORD WWI

WWI Imperial German Panther headed sword with scabbard. The sword hilt is a standard sized example, being fire-gilded brass. The gilding is about half there. The panther head is the traditional German style with the long snout. His whiskers, brow, and nose all reflect hand done engraving. The mane flows down the backstrap, becoming floral patterns afterward in a quatrefoil pattern. The "P" guard has fantastic raised-out oak leaves, with a random pebble pattern in the back grounding. The crossguard and langet with crossed sabers design to the obverse and a plain reverse. The langet itself is squared. The grip of this saber is a fine celluloid with wire wrap. Overall size is 41 inches long with a clean blade. The scabbard is straight with most of its black paint.
