Imperial German Trench Art Shell from a Garde Unit. The shell measures 9 3/4 inches tall and partially exploded iron round that has been painted blue to the exterior with yellow and orange highlights with "Semper Talis" in a scroll pattern meaning always like that with the Imperial Garde Crest to the center with regimental Cypher below. To the interior of the shell is the name of the soldier who souvenired and painted the shell. The inscription reads "Gefrtr. Bartmann 4. Comp. E.G.Rgt.z.F. 06 Potsdam.08" An exceptional piece of Trench Art!
