WWI FIELD MADE TRENCH GAS ATTACK CLACKER - RATTLE
World War One large trench gas attack clacker - rattle made in the field. A great example of "Yankee Ingenuity" in the trenches utilizing a 23" piece of a two-man saw blade, a vehicle or machine gear, pieces of scrap wood, and a finished handle similar to handles found on a water cask - keg. The hand crank turns the gear which catches the edge of the saw blade causing a VERY loud rattle. This device stands 36.25 inches tall and after 106 years still works perfectly.
