WWI POW WWII Colonel Frierson Aviator Insignia Group

From the famous Harry Block Aviation Collection. For many years, Mr. Block wrote to and met with notable aviators throughout history and obtained personal items from them, typically documenting how and when he acquired items in his own handwriting. His collection was sold many years ago, and several lots have recently re-surfaced. Small group from Colonel Samuel G. Frierson, a member of the 91st Aero Squadron in WWI who was shot down and was a Prisoner of War of the Germans. Group includes a set of non matching Colonel rank eagles, pin back Legion of Merit and WWI Victory medal ribbon bar, and a few pieces of paper as shown.
