WWI USMC INSCR. SHARPSHOOTER MEDAL HAITI SERVICE

World War One United States Marine Corps inscribed sharpshooter medal. The back of the suspension bar is engraved "Bert D. Porter" while the date "1917" is engraved on the back of the medal. It appears that the attachment has been replaced; Porter's service records indicate that he spent time at Paris Island, South Carolina as a shooting instructor and then served in Haiti during the Haitian Campaign.
