WWII Era Mossberg Model 42MB .22 Short / Long / LR Bolt Action Rifle US Property Stamped
Manufactured by O.F. Mossberg in the early 1940s for the British Lend-Lease program. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked on the receiver and barrel, with British "BNP" proofmarks on the right side. Features a 25" barrel with Mossberg factory-mounted adjustable rear peep sight and blade front sight. Bolt action with 10-round detachable magazine, manual lever safety, serrated nickel-plated trigger, and hard rubber finger-grooved trigger guard. Fitted with a one-piece pistol grip stock and hard rubber butt plate. Stock is fitted with a swivel ring; corresponding swivel ring is missing from the forearm. LOP: 13". CALIBER/GA: 22 S/L/LR. Condition
Retains 70% finish with areas turning to a brown patina. Light oxidation spots on the bolt and knob. Metal forearm piece appears to be sanded as well as the wood forend. Light frosting on the bore with visible rifling. Good mechanics.
