WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE BADGE BY BSW.

An early, high quality Luftwaffe Pilots Badge struck from fine nickel silver. The obverse of this badge shows only great original detail to the eagle and wreath. The eagle retains nice original dark finish to the recesses but has worn off of the raised areas. The wreath is similar with patina and attractive age toning. The reverse of the eagle exhibits the BSW clover leaf marking, indicating manufacture by Brüder Schneider AG, in Vienna. A pleasant patina is exhibited on the reverse. The letters "Fl" and the name "Weiss" are crudely engraved on the reverse of the wreath. The hardware is correct for this maker and features a barrel hinge, round wire pin, and “question mark” shaped catch. The pin is straight. Rivets are correct and intact. No repairs and the pin still functions as it should. CONDITION: Good.
