WWII IMP JAPANESE ARMY TYPE 96 COLD WEATHER SHOES

World War Two Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) Type 96 cold weather shoes manufactured in 1943 in Korea as indicated by the stampings on the soles. These officer/NCO grade shoes appear to be unissued and exhibit only minimal storage wear. The fur lining is still intact. Shoelaces and eyelets are original with minor surface rust on some of the eyelets. Heel and toe sections of the outsoles have nailed rubber reinforcements that have Japanese characters. The canvas uppers are stamped size "11.3". An identical pair of these army cold weather shoes can be seen on page 170 (image 668) Tadao Nakata's "Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms & Equipment" (1995 revised edition) where they are identified as "army cold shoes".
