WWII NAZI GERMAN KRIEGSMARINE STOPWATCH JUNGHANS

A rare functional example of a Junghans Kriegsmarine Navigator’s Stopwatch. Junghans was founded by Erhard Junghans on April 15 1861, and continues to make quality timepieces in Schramberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany today. The case of this stopwatch is manufactured in nickel-silver, with a nickel-silver crown and with a matching loop attached to the stem of the watch. Uniquely, the case-back is equally crafted of nickel-silver and is marked with a Kriegsmarine eagle, as well as “M 1080 N”. The face of the watch is white, with black printed arabic numerals from 0 seconds to 60 seconds, marked in 5 second intervals.. It features an additional smaller dial at the top with black printed arabic numerals from 3 minutes to 30 minutes, marked in 3 minute intervals. The face is otherwise marked “Junghans” in black lettering. The face is covered by a period original domed acrylic crystal. The watch case measures 49 mm in diameter without the crown, and 63 mm with the crown. It is windable, and fully functional - operational by pressing the crown once to start the watch, pressing it again to stop the watch, and pressing it once more to reset the watch. In overall near extremely fine condition.
