WWII NAZI MINIATURE KRIEGSMARINE DAGGER W KNOT WW2
WWII German Kriegsmarine Naval Dagger complete with a "lightning bolt" style brass scabbard. It measures 8 inches long, with a 5 1/2 inch long nickel plated blade. This was probably purchased or given to a high ranking Kriegsmarine Officer, for use on their desk or elsewhere. The nickel plating on the blade is retained quite well. There is a very nice miniature size sword knot wrapped around the hilt. The white celluloid grip and crossguard is just like its larger counterpart. Excellent. The Kriegsmarine was the last of the three branches of the Armed Services to adopt a Nazified dagger on January 28TH 1938. The Kriegsmarine dagger was a modified version of a traditional design that dates back to the creation of the Prussian Navy in 1848. The main modification of the Third Reich era dagger was a change in the Reichsmarine dagger pommel.
