WWII ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY RATINGS CAP HCMS HAIDA & 1ST EDITION BOOK "HAIDA" PUBLISHED 1946

World War Two Royal Canadian Navy ratings (enlisted sailor) wool cap with a post war H.C.M.S. Haida silk tally. The underside of the cap is manufacturer stamped NATIONAL HAT MFG. CO. 1945 71/4. Cap is complete with chinstrap that is detached on one side. The tally (silk ribbon)has .5625" 9/16" lettering indicating that while the hat is of WW2 vintage, the ribbon was made in the 1950s. There is no damage to the cap itself. The ribbon shows wear and some tears as visible in the photographs. Also included is a 1st edition book titled "HAIDA" published in 1946. The Haida holds the distinction of having sunk more surface tonnage than any other Canadian warship during WWII. Its honors include the Arctic, English Channel, Normandy, and Biscay during WWII and Korea service 1952-53. In-house shipping is available.
