WWII US Army Medical Department Red Cross Brassard
A World War II era United States Army Medical Department brassard, commonly known as a medic armband. The piece is constructed from a white cotton canvas band with a red fabric Geneva cross appliqué machine-stitched to the center. The reverse side features two distinct purple ink stencils. A horizontally oriented stencil on one end reads 46M-10168. A larger, vertically oriented stencil on the opposite end reads 663729. These marks correspond to military supply or specification codes. The armband is designed with raw, unfinished ends intended for pinning or sewing to a uniform sleeve. Length: 17 5/8 inches Width: 3 3/4 inches. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
