WWII U.S. M1 Front Seam Swivel Bale Helmet with RARE Winter Over White Cover

World War II U.S. Army M1 front seam swivel bale helmet with RARE winter over white cover. An impressed heat treatment number 980B is visible on the interior crown of the shell. The interior crown of the liner features an embossed manufacturer mark consisting of the letter W inside a circle. The exterior of the liner is finished in white paint and features a central water-transfer decal for the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. The decal depicts the VFW emblem with a cross and eagle motif surrounded by the text VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED STATES. The interior of the liner contains olive drab cotton suspension webbing secured with metal washers and a brown leather sweatband. The white cotton winter camouflage cover is designed to fit over the steel shell and includes an integrated foliage band and a drawstring closure. The helmet shows wear with the white cover exhibiting some staining and edge wear. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
