WWII US Navy Mark 2 Combat Knife and Scabbard

United States Navy Mark 2 combat knife and accompanying leather scabbard from the World War II era. The knife features a 7-inch carbon steel clip-point blade with a black phosphate finish and a deep fuller. The hilt is constructed with a straight steel crossguard and a handle composed of stacked leather washers, terminating in a circular steel pommel pinned to the tang. The brown leather scabbard features a belt loop, a snap-button retaining strap, and is reinforced with steel rivets at the throat and tip. The front of the leather scabbard is stamped with large characters reading KA-BAR and USN below it. 13" L, 7" blade.

Condition Report:
The knife and scabbard are in service-worn condition. The blade exhibits finish loss, surface scratches, and minor oxidation along the edge and ricasso. Darkening and compression wear are visible on the leather handle washers. The steel crossguard and pommel show surface rust and pitting. The leather scabbard shows significant age-related wear including surface cracking, heavy scuffing, and loss of the original finish. Oxidation is present on the steel rivets and snap.
