Pre- World War Two - WW2 VP-17 Patrol Squadron Patch. The patch is multi-piece wool construction. Measures 5.875" x 4.75". Established as Patrol Squadron SEVENTEEN-F (VP-17F) on January 2, 1937. Redesignated Patrol Squadron SEVENTEEN (VP-17) on 1October 1, 1937; Patrol Squadron FORTY TWO (VP-42) on July 1, 1939; Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED THIRTY FIVE (VB-135) on February 15, 1943. The insignia was approved by BuAer on November 16, 1938. The Insignia was changed when the squadron was redesignated VB-135.
