Wade & Old Boone Whiskey Jugs, Ceramic
A collection of four ceramic whiskey jugs featuring prominent American bourbon branding. The group includes a pair of commemorative jugs produced by Wade Ceramics for the International Association of Jim Beam Bottle and Specialty Clubs (IAJBBSC) in 1999. One jug is finished in a brown and tan glaze, while its counterpart features a two-tone blue color scheme. The front of these jugs displays the Jim Beam wax seal logo and a landscape, while the reverse depicts an illustration of a cowboy leaning against a bottle of Jim Beam whiskey. The base of each Wade jug features a printed black mark reading IAJBBSC 1999 above a map logo containing the name International Association of Jim Beam Bottle & Specialty Clubs, followed by WADE and the edition number 1 of 300. Both jugs retain their original cork stoppers. The collection also includes a Daniel Boone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Pioneer Jug. This two-tone stoneware vessel features a printed graphic of a pioneer figure and rifles. The text on the front reads PIONEER JUG, DANIEL BOONE, 86 PROOF 4/5 QUART, and KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY, with the bottling information BOTTLED EXCLUSIVELY BY OLD BOONE DISTILLERY CO. MEADOWLAWN, KENTUCKY. The underside is printed with 219-1976 LIQUOR BOTTLE 11-D16. A red U.S. Internal Revenue tax stamp is adhered to the neck, bearing the number 638307645. Completing the assortment is a small, unmarked two-tone stoneware jug with a brown glazed shoulder and tan body, fitted with a cork.
