The orrery table clock consists of two movements joined by an external drive pin, a clock movement and a planetary movement. Dating back to 1984, it is part of a limited edition of 1500 clocks from Devon Clocks.
. I own the serial number 685. It is handmade in steel and brass.
. Gold plated brass (see the certificate) highly polished, mounted on a mahogany base that houses the fixed winding key.
. It was made by Michel Rapin, the first Swiss specialist in the design and manufacture of all water games and illuminated fountains for private and public gardens, founder of Fontajet
. Complete with a glass dome.
. The lower movement uses a double cylinder winded by a common tree. This 8-day movement powers the entire clock. Separate minutes and hand rings turn beyond the black pointer.
. The upper movement, with 52 mobile parts, carries out the configuration of seven planets showing their relation to the Sun, as follows: The Earth and the Moon rotating every 365 days (The Moon is silver plated) .
. Mercury turning every 87 days.
. Venus turning every 229 days.
. Mars turning every 689 days.
. Jupiter turning every 4339 days.
. Saturn turning every 29 years and a half
(The ring surrounding Saturn is silver plated) .
. The planets and their drive mechanism are surrounded by a fascinating globe structure, a beautifully engraved band with the months of the year while another depicts the zodiac's signs.
. On sale with certificate and user manual
