Good French cartel clock of gilt bronze in Louis XVI (neoclassical) style dated to late 19th century, preserved in great condition. Finely finished cast bronze case, chisseled and gilt. Decorated with accanthus leaves, scrolls and geometrical forms. Large two handle urn on top, accorn finial. Creamy enamel dial, black Arabic hour numerals, with gold dots for minutes, preserved in amazing condition, without discolourations nor cracks. Very well executed openwork chisseled and gilt brass hands. Movement stamped on the backplate: JAPY FRERES & Cie / G[ran] de MEDAILLE D'HONEUR, inscription in the circle, around the medal of honour. Serial number: 25934 - left side of the movement, numbers indicated proportion of weigth and length of pendulum - 5 / 2 (lower part of the movement) . Pendulum stamped with number 25934, same as movement, what means it's original from this clock. Conditions report: case in excellent condition with minimal wear, gold layer well preserved, minor discolorations. One chip to the dial. Movement works and strikes. Clock comes with pendulum and winding key. It's over 100 years old movement, we do not guarantee quartz accuracy. Movement may need regulation after delivery.
