Literature
A Walnut Victorian Eastlake 2-Door Bookcase with an Offset Base is a highly desirable piece of late 19th-century American furniture, typically dating from the 1870s to the 1890s. An "offset base" (sometimes referred to as a step-back or breakfront base layout) means the bottom drawer section extends slightly further forward than the upper glass-door cabinet. This design provides extra stability for the heavy unit while creating a visually distinct ledge between the top and bottom sections.
