Walt Disney Signature, with Bonus Disney Studio Original Pencil Drawing of Mickey Mouse

A striking display, matted, framed, and ready to hang, comprised of an authentic autograph by Walt Disney (1901-1966), and an original pencil drawing of Mickey Mouse sporting a tuxedo, likely executed by an unidentified Disney Studio artist. N.d., n.p. The Mediterranean blue beveled mat and white-finished frame presents a lovely decorative contrast. Not examined out of the frame. Expected scuffs and wear to the frame, else very good. The frame measures 19.625" x 23.75" x .875" overall.

Disney has signed and inscribed a piece of pale blue paper in dark blue colored pencil as "BEST WISHES / Walt Disney." Near fine. The sight size of the autograph measures 5" x 4.625."

The drawing depicts Mickey Mouse in tails (in addition to his own tail) strutting gaily towards the left. Certain drawing features suggest a possible execution date of circa 1950s, though we are not experts in animation history and can only hazard an educated guess. The drawing is complete with technical markings such as "75% to 35%" evidently relating to the frame of the cartoon and its proportion. Near fine. The sight size of the drawing is 9" x 11.5."

Walt Disney co-founded Disney Brothers Studio in California in the 1920s, and served as first company president of its later iteration, the Walt Disney Company, between 1923-1945. The character of Mickey Mouse was developed in 1928. Mickey has gone through various visual and vocal transformations over the years, but he remains one of Disney's most popular creations.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
