Walt Disney Signed Dye Transfer Print For Oscar-Winning Short "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom" (1953)
Signed print
A dye transfer print of the eponymous caveman musicians from the 1953 animated short "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom". Disney's large signature fills the lower right portion of the mat, personalized and inscribed, "with best wishes/ Walt Disney." Faintly docketed in pencil on the mat to the lower left of image. The print measures 12.5" x 9.5", professionally matted and framed to an overall size of 22" x 20". Darkened age toning to the mat where Disney has signed, else very good. Not examined outside of frame.
A sequel to the popular Adventures in Music cartoon, "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom" offered in a stylized presentation of the evolution of the four orchestra sections: brass ("toot"), woodwind ("whistle"), strings ("plunk"), and percussion ("boom"). It became the first Disney production to be released in widescreen cinemascope, winning the 1954 Oscar for Best Short Subject Cartoon.
