Walt Disney Studios - Alice in Wonderland (1951)

[ translate ]

Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1951). "Her Imperial Highness, Her Grace, Her Excellency, Her Royal Majesty, the Queen of Hearts." The White Rabbit may have only just made it, but he puts everything he has into his introduction for the regal Queen of Hearts. Understandably, too, or else she might just say off with his head! This wonderfully expressive 12 field 3-peghole animation drawing can be found at about the 1:00:21 mark, the anxious rabbit trying to catch his breath as he grips his trusty bugle. This memorable key moment was supervised by Wolfgang Reitherman (1909 – 1985), one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" and a Disney Legend inductee. Production art from the film is already hard to find, and we've seen very few production drawings of this iconic character. The White Rabbit measures roughly 5'' x 4.25'', rendered in graphite with color pencil and labeled 43A in the lower right corner. Good condition with light age-related toning, minor edge and handling wear, and faint creases expected from production use. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
