Walt Disney Studios - Bambi (1942)

[ translate ]

Bambi Bambi Early Animation Drawing Signed by Frank Thomas, Marc Davis, and Ollie Johnston (Walt Disney, 1942). Presented in this lot is a rare find from the 1942 Disney classic Bambi. The rough animation drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. An earlier version of Bambi tries to stand, but he can't figure out how to get up just yet. The drawing is marked with a stamp that reads ‘discard' and was signed by three Disney Legend inductees and three of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Frank Thomas (1912 – 2004), Marc Davis (1913 – 2000), and Ollie Johnston (1912 – 2008). All of them worked on the film and had a hand in bringing Bambi to life. It is a great find and would be at home in any Disney collection. The young deer measures about 4'' x 3'' in a 11.5'' x 9.5'' mat window. The frame measures 20'' x 18''. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Light age-related toning and minor handling wear. Superficial wrinkles and a small stain. Very Good condition overall. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
