Walt Disney Studios - Dumbo (1941)

[ translate ]

Dumbo Timothy Q. Mouse Animation Drawing Attributed to Fred Moore (Walt Disney, 1941). "Oh! I forgot to tell you, we're going to see your mother. I made an appointment." The loyal Timothy Q. Mouse tries to cheer his friend Dumbo up in this heartwarming 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing from Disney's fourth feature-length animated film. Dumbo is understandably distraught, separated from his mother and forced to work with the circus clowns. Timothy tries to lift his spirits by offering him the peanut he keeps tucked in his hat, and when that doesn't get a reaction he cheerfully tells him they can visit Mrs. Jumbo. This moment can be found at about the 38:15 mark, rendered expertly in graphite with color pencil. This large full figure mouse features a great expression and measures roughly 4.5'' x 5''. He is noted as 73 in the lower right and marked for Production 2006, Sequence 14.2, and Scene 6 along the bottom edge. Disney Legend Fred Moore (1911 – 1952) supervised the animation of this scene and would likely have created this key drawing. Any Dumbo production art is rare, but a spectacular image like this of Timothy is truly hard to come by. Very Good condition overall with light age-related toning, minor edge and handling wear, and faint superficial wrinkles not on the image.
