Honey Harvester Donald Duck Storyboards by Nick George Group of 9 (Walt Disney, 1949). "He won’t get away from me this time." This set of nine storyboards were made over 75 years ago, during the early development of the Jack Hannah-directed short Honey Harvester. Each pastel storyboard has been created by master story man Nick George (1910 – 1977), who joined the studio in the early 1930s as an inbetweener. He soon moved to the story department where he would remain for the rest of his career, working alongside artists like Carl Barks and Jack Hannah to create incredible storyboards and animated shorts. He would primarily stick to Donald Duck, but would also work on some Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Mickey shorts. In Honey Harvester, Donald Duck is tending his lush greenhouse when he discovers the bee that has been harvesting his flowers' nectar. Leading to a series of silly and sneaky chases as Donald tries to track down the delicious honey hoard. Capturing a few moments that bear resemblance to story beats from the short, like the bee sneaking around the greenhouse tables trying to avoid Donald’s honey-hungry attention and Donald tending to beds of flowers. Each page measures about 8" x 5.75". The group is in Good to Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear with corner creasing, light age-related toning, pinholes from production use, and smudging from the pastel.
