Walt Disney Studios - Lady and the Tramp (20th Century)

[ translate ]

Lady and the Tramp RARE Dogcatcher in Horse Carriage Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1955). "Easy. Go on, get away. Watch it now. Watch it." You'll want to keep your eyes on this lot! This enormous and exceptionally rare 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing features the Dogcatcher and his horse-drawn carriage as he rushes Tramp to the pound. This spectacular vintage drawing captures the tense moment Jock and Trusty cause the horses to rear. The graphite with color pencil drawing can be found at about 1:11:53 as the dogcatcher tries to get the carriage under control. The animation of this intense scene was supervised by Edwin "Ed" Aardal (1910 – 1988), most known for his work on this film, Fantasia, and Charlotte's Web. This fantastic drawing measures an impressive 13.25'' x 9.25'' and is noted as 47 in the lower right, featuring details of these characters that you can't see in the final version of the film. Production art from this film is rare enough, but we've hardly seen anything with the dogcatcher and his carriage! Good condition overall with light age-related toning, minor edge and handling wear, two pinholes, and a border stain not on the drawing. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
