Walt Disney Studios – Mickey Mouse "Boat Builders" Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). "All you do is put it together!" This one-of-a-kind production color key drawing depicts Mickey Mouse installing a mast in a scene from "Boat Builders," released theatrically through RKO on February 25, 1938! The 99th animated Mickey Mouse short film was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and was one of a series to feature the comedy trio of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. This pencil drawing is amended with colored pencil and rarely seen production notes on the pastels of the mast and Mickey's bright-red overalls. The artwork has an image size measuring 9.5" X 6.5" on 12" x 10" animation paper and is in Very Good condition exhibiting toning from age and a few small spots of discoloration and wear from handling. This represents the last laborious step in an archaic process of animation and preserves the world's most recognizable mouse in a memorable moment from Walt Disney Studios cinematic history.
