The Rescuers Down Under Frank and Cody Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1990). "Calm down, little mate." Cody, a young boy who can talk to animals, has been kidnapped by a poacher. He and his trapped animal friends try to find a way out of their cages and Frank is the first to escape. He's a little too excited about it, though. Cody tries to get him to calm down so they don't get caught, hoping he'll be able to get the keys. This pair of wonderful 16 field 5-peghole drawings can be found at about the 48:47 mark of the film and are expertly rendered in graphite with color pencil. Both characters are incredibly expressive, Frank with an elated smile on his face and Cody with an almost painful grimace. The frill-necked lizard measures about 3'' x 5.5'' while Cody is roughly 6.5'' x 6.5''. Labeled 38 and C-44, the drawings include timing charts and have ‘Property of Walt Disney Pictures' along the bottom edge. Cody's page also has a dialogue note in the upper right corner.
