Pinocchio RARE Jiminy Cricket Pair of Color Model/Production Cels from the Collection of Marc and Alice Davis (Walt Disney, 1940). This pair of color model/production cels from Walt Disney's Pinocchio presents the beloved character Jiminy Cricket in two distinct appearances: his initial tattered clothes and his iconic top hat and tails. Measuring 4" and 2" respectively, these cels serve as vital tools in animation, ensuring consistent coloration across various scenes. Known as color tests, they guide artists in maintaining character continuity throughout the film. Coming to auction from the private collection of Disney Legends Marc and Alice Davis, these pieces underscore Marc's significant contributions to Disney, from his early days as an apprentice animator on Snow White to his influential role in designing iconic Disneyland attractions like "It's a Small World." Hand-inked and hand-painted on acetate and trimmed to 5.5" x 7.5", these cels are in Very Good condition, despite a minor paint chip on Jiminy Cricket's chest in the smaller image.
