Donald and the Gorilla Rare Donald and Ajax Studio Concept (Walt Disney, 1944). This is a rare studio concept or publicity art from Donald and the Gorilla where Donald and his nephews dress up as a gorilla to prank each other, while a real gorilla, Ajax the Killer, has escaped from the zoo. The drawing is rendered in graphite and color pencil. It shows Ajax standing behind Donald ready to attack while the duck grumpily holds a sword in front of him, ready to fight the enormous animal. This short featuring Ajax was inspired by another Disney short called The Gorilla Mystery that was released to theaters in 1930. The figures approximately measure a combined 7'' x 6.75''.
