Mickey's Christmas Carol RARE Donald Duck and Cyril Proudbottom Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1983). "I'm looking forward to that wonderful meal of yours," Uncle Scrooge tells Donald, much to his and Cyril's surprise. These beautiful and rare 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings of Donald and his horse Cyril come from the 1983 short A Christmas Carol. The heartwarming animation was the first short to feature Mickey Mouse since 1953 and retold Charles Dickens' (1812 – 1870) timeless story A Christmas Carol. It was both directed and produced by Disney Legend Burny Mattinson (1935 – 2023), Disney's longest employee who worked a whopping 70 years at the studio. The large drawings are rendered in graphite and graphite with color pencil, measuring approximately 5.25'' x 7.5'' (Donald) and 5.75'' x 8.75'' (Cyril). They can be found at roughly 23:43 in the short after Donald and Cyril find Scrooge wishing everyone a merry Christmas. The two are numbered 7 and A7 in the bottom right. There is minor handling and edge wear with faint age-related toning, and faint superficial wrinkles. Good to Very Good condition. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
