Mother Goose Goes Hollywood Eddie Cartor as Little Jack Horner Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1938). Eddie Cantor (1892 – 1964) takes on the role of Little Jack Horner in this remarkable trio of animation drawings, joyfully doing a dance as he performs "Song of Sixpence". This theatrical short was a retelling of famous Mother Goose nursery rhymes with caricatures of Hollywood stars in that period. This incredible drawing can be found at about 5:22 as this caricature of the skilled actor, producer, and songwriter performs with a jazz group that included notable musicians from the time. The drawings are rendered in graphite with color pencil, the full figures including a variety of expressive gestures. The character ranges from about 2.5'' x 4.25'' to 3.75'' x 2.25'' and is labeled 135, 136, and 139A in the bottom right. One page includes a timing chart along the right edge. One number is circled, indicating it is a key drawing and created by a supervising animator. These drawings are in Very Good condition with only minor edge and handling wear, light age-related toning, and faint superficial wrinkles.
