[ translate ]

Reason and Emotion Rare Hitler Character Designs Group of 11 by Bill Tytla (Walt Disney, 1943). Walt Disney Studios released the World War II propaganda short Reason and Emotion, directed by Bill Roberts (1899 – 1974) on 8/27/1943. The short focused on Reason and Emotion, exploring how they affected one's mind and the current climate of the world. This lot features eleven 12 field 5-peghole character designs for Hitler in the short created by Disney Legend inductee Bill Tytla (1904 – 1968). Tytla was a highly acclaimed animator who worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and a few wartime shorts at Disney before he left the studio in 1943 to work at Terrytoons. He is uncredited for his work on this short, though his design was used in the final film. The graphite and graphite with color pencil drawings explore the man's design with thumbnail sketches and exaggerated poses and expressions. They range from 1.25'' x 1'' to 8'' x 5.25'', two noted as 5 and 19. There is light age-related toning and faint debris. There is minor edge and handling wear aside from one page that has torn lower corners. This historical lot is in Good to Very Good condition overall.
