[ translate ]

Sleeping Beauty Maleficent as Dragon Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1959). Maleficent transforms into an enormous and monstrous dragon in these incredible 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings. The sequence comes from later in the film and can be found at about 1:09:35 as Maleficent attacks Prince Phillip, who is armed with the Sword of Truth and Shield of Virtue. The sequence begins as she pokes through the thorns and roars a mouthful of emerald fire in his direction. The drawings are rendered in graphite and range from about 6'' x 8.5'' to 8'' x 10''. You can really imagine how gigantic the dragon is if these large drawings are only the head of the creature. They are labeled D-3, D-5, and D-11 in the bottom right corner. One has been initialed in the top left. There is light age-related toning as well as minor edge and handling wear. This includes light debris and faint superficial wrinkles. Very Good condition overall for these terrifyingly spectacular drawings. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
