Sleeping Beauty Prince Phillip and Maleficent as Dragon Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1959). Maleficent, now transformed into a gigantic fire breathing dragon, battles Prince Phillip to the death in this magnificent pair of action-packed 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings from Disney's 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. Prince Phillip can be found in the tense moment at about the 1:10:00 mark of the film as he is about to fall off the cliff edge into a fiery pit. Maleficent appears at around 1:09:31 just before she sends a plume of flame towards the prince. The drawings are skillfully rendered in graphite and are noted as 61 and 19 in the bottom right. Diminutive Prince Phillip measures roughly 1.5'' x 1.5'' while Dragon Maleficent is around 7.5'' x 6''. There is light age-related toning with minor edge and handling wear.
