Walt Disney Studios - Sleeping Beauty (20th Century)

Sleeping Beauty Maleficent as Dragon and Prince Philip Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1959). These two 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings are action packed! The dragon and prince can be found later in the film at roughly 1:09:25 as Prince Phillip tries to recover from the recently transformed Maleficent's powerful blast of flames. The characters' contrasting sizes are even more apparent in the animation drawings with the topmost and bottommost portions of the dragon on display. Phillip, a diminutive 2.5'' x 1.5'', is nearly engulfed by Maleficent's imposing 10.5'' x 10.75'' form. The graphite and graphite with color pencil pages are noted as 6 and 19 in the bottom right. Phillip's page has a small note on the top border along with a timing chart for the shield on the right edge. There is light age-related toning and minor edge and handling wear from studio use. This includes superficial wrinkles, faint smudges, small stains, and reinforced pegholes. The dueling duo is in Very Good condition overall.
