Walt Disney Studios - Snow White (20th Century)

[ translate ]

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs "The Washing Song" Doc with Water Effects Animation Drawings Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1937). "So splash all you like, ‘tain't any trick. As soon as you're through, you'll feel mighty slick." Once again acting as the fearless leader, Doc musically instructs his fellow Dwarfs on the ins and outs of washing up in this trio of original animation drawings from Disney's very first feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Presumably accustomed to royal etiquette and hygiene, Snow White insists the Dwarfs all scrub up before dinner which in turn leads into the "Bluddle‐Uddle‐Um‐Dum" musical number better known as "The Washing Song". The moment featured here can be spotted near the 44:07 mark as Doc splashes about while washing his face. All 3 drawings have been rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper with a studio stamp in the lower left that reads 2001 6A 12 for production, sequence, and scene, as well as sequence numbers written in the lower right. Doc's nearly full-figured image appears on the drawing numbered 42 with a character size of 4.25" x 5" and the dialogue note "T" found in the upper right. The remaining drawings feature coordinating water effects for the scene numbered 216 and 257 with respective image areas of approximately 3.75" x 2.25" and 3.25" x 3.75", with drawing 216 also including additional animator's notes. With typical studio handling and edge wear including light age-related toning and superficial surface wrinkles, overall this tidy drawing is in Very Good condition.
