Walt Disney Studios - The Lion King (20th Century)

[ translate ]

The Lion King Early Development Storyboard Group of 3 Attributed to Larry Leker (Walt Disney, 1994). Take a little peek into the production of the award-winning film with this trio of outstanding early development storyboards. These boards would have been used to roughly map out position, style, and movement in a scene. All feature the hyenas who have allied themselves with Scar, including: a close-up of Scar's main supporters Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed; the three hyenas entering Scar's cave to tell him they've run out of food; and finally, the hyenas surrounding Timon, Pumbaa, and Rafiki as they prepare for battle. These incredible storyboards are attributed to legendary storyboard artist Larry Leker and can be found at about 49:23, 20:53, and 1:17:00. Two are rendered in conté crayon while one includes graphite and small areas of white paint. Each was created on roughly 18'' x 5'' paper. One includes a sticker in the lower right noting it as 6. These pieces offer an amazing look into the making of the film and are in Very Good condition with minor edge and handling wear and pinholes from studio use.
