Walt Disney Studios - The Little Mermaid (1989)

[ translate ]

The Little Mermaid King Triton Rough Animation Drawing Signed by Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1989). "Don't you take that tone of voice with me, young lady!" King Triton, ruler of the Atlantica, looks as mighty as ever in this beautifully expressive 16-field rough animation drawing from the Disney Renaissance film The Little Mermaid. This award-winning film was the last to use cel animation and production drawings like this are hard to come by. This one is exceptionally dynamic, created by the renowned Disney Legend Andreas Deja. Deja is most known for bringing life to King Triton and infamous Disney villains like Jafar, Gaston, and Scar. He signed the drawing in the bottom right and labeled the character in the top left. The King's expression is tense with anger, the picture of every frustrated parent. This moment looks to be from about 13:15 as Ariel and Triton are arguing, though the pose is flipped in the final film. The dramatic close-up measures about 13'' x 11'' and exhibits light age-related toning, minor edge and handling wear from production, slight creases in the top right, and faint superficial wrinkles. Very Good condition for this fantastic rough drawing! HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
